I don’t know what I’m supposed to do, all I know is what I can do.”
- James T. Kirk from Star Trek: Into Darkness

The above phrase stuck out to me because of the current season we are in. There is so much to learn, and progress to be made; but this is all new to us. And because of that, there have been mistakes things to learn along the way.

After an amazing weekend at LegionsCon, we’ve gone somewhat silent on social media. This was planned. Our team was being pushed hard to make the deadline of LegionsCon and were asked to work some longer hours. So we gave everyone a break leading up to this next conference.

While at LegionsCon, we met some absolutely amazing people and veterans in the toy industry and felt warmly welcomed into the fold. People are genuinely excited for the Chronicles of the Elohim series and that motivates us more than anything. So thank you for your feedback and support!

The conversations we had were important because they confirmed our excitement but also confirmed some of our concerns with production. The direction we were headed, although feasible, was going to be much more expensive than we hoped. We could do it, but it was a larger risk than we were willing to take with a first launch.

After many discussions with industry veterans and some back of the napkin math, we have decided for our first launch to move the figures into a large 1/12 scale (7” instead of the original 9”) and design them around a buck-body system. This allows us to sit in the 1/12 collector’s market comfortably. It opens up customization options for all of us to use and…the big ticket item…lowers production costs. That feels right. We can get the figures made, keep the art style that everyone really seems to love, and open ourselves up to a larger market.

We are making a similar decision with the smaller 5” figures. These are the more play-friendly figures we revealed at LegionsCon. These will also be designed around a buck-body system but also utilizing a slightly different and unique take on the Glyos system.

Which leads us to the Kickstarter.

🚀 Kickstarter

We are moving forward with having all the 5 current 9” Elohim characters updated with the buck body system. This work will be our focus over the next few months.

Our current estimates have us aiming to launch the Kickstarter campaign right around May 1st.

Expect to see lots of updates on this work and details about the Kickstarter launch in the coming months.

WEBCOMIC: CHRONICLES OF THE TWO WITNESSES

We are thinking about creating a satirical and playful webcomic based on several of our characters. This first one will be following Enoch, the Metatron and Elijah, the Sandalphon as they watch and listen to the ongoings of both their fellow Elohim and mankind.

More on this idea soon.

Till next time,

Jeff from Toy Maker’s Forge
